Well Haylee is now the proud owner of a Shelly 4.0 neo naito trach. I walked down to the OR with Haylee at 8:09am and and then waited till about 9:43am and the surgent came out and said all went well and she was back in her room recovering. It was an earliy moring for a few of my good friends I've made at the Ronald McDonald house who came with me for much needed suport. Greg (Haylee's Dad) drove for 2 days to come and be there to see her once she came out and she was happy to see him too. Haylee will be on med's for a few days to make sure she is comfortable and resting. She was all smiles and playing with her toung well she was awake. Auntie Trish came and got to see the smiles and tomorrow Aunt Julie and Uncle John will be down and getting to play with her and see her face for the first time in 3.5 months. I'm sure Haylee will have many more visiters over the weekend and have many more smiles to fill the days with. This has been a big step for Haylee and hopfully a step towards getting her home with her family where she belongs. She has a leak around the trach and we can hear her breath and hopefully hear her giggle and make some noise. She has done so well she is such a strong little girl and I'm so proud of her. Haylee should be well on her way to having a healed trach over the next few weeks and we are praying that there is no complications. Thanks again to everyone for all the support and prayers. Please keep Haylee in your thoughts and prayers as she continues to fight SMA with the strength and bravarey that she has been. God Bless and we will keep updated......... hugssssssssss Trach Meeting 07/13/2009
Well the meeting happened today and when they invited us into the room all the docotor's but the core doctor the nurse and ethasist, had left. They were in disagrment still on if Haylee should be trached. Haylee's core doctor is now on owr side with why not do the trach he says that we have faught a lot and that we have pushed them to do things that they don't do so why stop now. He says why stop now, and I agree. So as they told me they cannot push the surgents hand if he says no, but I will push if need be. After the meeting I went to be with Haylee and got some beautiful smiles that help me feel strong again. Haylee's core doctor came by with a group of doctor's around 4:30pm and gave report on Haylee to them and he said that they are waiting for the trach date. When he said that I asked him again what he said and then he said that ENT paged him and asked what happened after they left and he said that the parents (Greg and myself) are strong on having her trached and we want a date. ENT said ok then it is a go and they should have a date tomorrow. So as it stands right now Haylee will be trached soon. But as I've said before I'll believe it when it happens so we will see. Haylee is strong and is still so happy we have been blessed to have her and I will continue to fight for her. Once she is trached I will let everyone know. Thanks again to all of you and if you have any questions pleasede feel free to ask God Bless hugssssssssss Extubation 07/05/2009
On July 4, 2009 Amanda has asked me to let all of you know that at some point today Haylee will be extubated one more time before the doctors will consider traching her. Pray that all goes well today for Haylee as we all know these doctors don't have a clue as to how to care for her properly. Amanda will update either myself or Julie and we will update as soon as we hear how things have gone. |
